Trained as a bank clerk; studied law at the Universities of Regensburg and Lausanne (Switzerland), as well as business administration at the Fernuniversit?t Hagen; completed an elective rotation during his legal clerkship at Chung-Ang University in Seoul (South Korea). Research assistant to Prof. Dr. Dieter Henrich (Chair of Private International Law and Comparative Law, University of Regensburg).

Has been working as a freelance lecturer and trainer since 1993; practiced as a lawyer from 1999 to 2011, specializing in labor law and IT law; has also been a mediator since 1999, focusing on business mediation.

Since 2011, Professor of Private Commercial Law with a focus on labor law at the East Bavarian Technical University of Regensburg, Faculty of Business Administration.

Areas of focus: Legal foundations for teaching, particularly copyright law and examination law, as well as public service law.
