The Faculty of Philology and History at the University of Augsburg is seeking to fill the following position at the Chair of Image Processing and Visualization in the Digital Humanities as soon as possible: Doctoral Research Assistant (m/f/d) This is a half-time position with a fixed-term contract of six years. Remuneration is based on pay scale 13 TV-L, provided that the personal and collective labour agreement requirements are met. The chair group, newly established with funding from the Bavarian High-Tech Agenda, is dedicated to the image-based recording and analysis of cultural heritage in the broadest sense. It is affiliated with both History of Arts and Cultures and Digital Humanities and also works closely with Environmental Sciences and Computer Science. In this interdisciplinary setting, our research focuses on imaging techniques as well as computer-aided methods of image processing and visualisation and image-based modelling. This results in a versatile, dynamic and internationally networked working environment. The position to be filled is particularly suitable for carrying out a doctoral project.
