On May 7 and 8, 2026, the groups of Alessandro Tavoni and Emanuele Campiglio (both supported by an ERC Grant) hosted the Workshop on “Behavioural Dimensions of Climate Change” in Bologna. About thirty workshop participants discussed how to design effective policies for a green transition, with a special emphasis on the role of beliefs and behavior. Karine Nyborg from the University of Oslo gave an inspiring keynote and twelve researchers from Europe and the US presented their ongoing work on the topic. Florian Diekert presented the latest version of the joint project with Felix Kotulla (Uni Augburg) and Daniel Heyen (RPTU Kaiserslautern), where we analyze how participants in a behavioral experiment react to the presence of a (un-)reliable early-warning-signal that may send a warning when the decision maker is about the cross a tipping point. Poster sessions during both days further stimulated exchange and networking. Big thanks to the organizing team for their hospitality!
