Area of Research

In the field of Bioethics, research interests focus on issues at the beginning of life (genome editing, reproductive medicine) as well as issues at the end of life. Research projects are planned or well underway, especially on Advance Care Planning (in cooperation with the “Augsburger Hospiz und Palliativversorgung e.V.”) and on palliative ethics (with Augsburg’s University Hospital). Integrated into the Center for Interdisciplinary Health Research at the University of Augsburg (ZIG), issues such as the question of compulsory vaccination have also emerged in Germany.

In Sexual Morality ("Beziehungsethik"), I am concerned with topics such as fidelity and a deeper understanding of a personal relationship ethics.

AI Ethics and Climate Ethics are also key focus areas of my research.

I am planning to write a history of moral theology (in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Sigrid Müller, Vienna).
