We are pleased to announce that Mr. Jonas Wessner from the University of Ulm has been awarded the Best Presentation Award, presented by Siemens. The award was given at the 7th KuVS Fachgespr?ch/Workshop on Machine Learning in Networking (MaLeNe 2026), held at the University of Augsburg.

On March 19–20, 2026, the Machine Learning in Networking (MaLeNe 2026) KuVS Fachgespr?ch was successfully hosted at the University of Augsburg. The two-day on-site event brought together around 25 researchers from academia and industry to exchange ideas and discuss emerging challenges in the intersection related to machine learning in networking.

On Monday, January 26, 2026, the inaugural lectures of Prof. Dr. Michael Seufert (Chair of Networked Systems and Communication Networks) and Prof. Dr. Jakob Kottmann (Chair of Quantum Algorithmics) took place in a joint event.

We are pleased to announce that our chair has officially joined the SLICES-DE community, Germany’s contribution to SLICES-RI, the Scientific Large-Scale Infrastructure for Computing and Communication Experimental Studies.

Our article entitled “Modeling Network Load of Mobile Instant Messaging: A Modular Source Traffic Generator,” written by our chair in collaboration with researchers from the University of Würzburg, was recently accepted for publication in the IEEE Transactions on Network and Service Management journal.

A research team from the University of Augsburg presented a paper at the 18th Junior Researcher Workshop on Real-Time Computing (JRWRTC 2025), held 5–7 November 2025 in Pisa, Italy, outlining a research roadmap for reliable and time-critical communication in the Internet of Things.
