Open Positions for PhD students

We - the Chair for Machine Learning and Computer Vision - are always looking for excellent individuals who are passionate about research and a PhD. Our research focus is on machine learning and computer vision in all its aspects.

Our research focuses on machine learning and vision in all its aspects.

Your tasks:

  • Scientific work and research in the field of machine learning and computer?vision

  • publishing and presenting research results

  • Participation in grant applications
  • Teaching according to LVVO (currently 5 LVS) such as preparation and implementation of lecture-accompanying exercises, practicals and seminars
  • Supervision of bachelor's and master's theses
  • Participation in the regular organization of the chair
  • Targeted self-qualification with the goal of obtaining a doctorate

We expect from you:
?
  • An an exceptionally strong master's degree (or comparable) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Data Science, or related fields,
  • Passion for one of the research areas of the chair (e.g., Computer Vision, 3D Vision, Machine Learning, Physics-informed Networks, 3D Human Pose and Mesh Estimation, Spatio-Temporal Prediction) and enthusiasm and perseverance to research in this area,
  • Ideally, experience in the areas of computer vision and machine learning from your studies,
  • Good programming skills in a common high-level language (e.g., Python),
  • Ideally, practical experience with tools for machine learning such as PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow, or Sci-Kit Learn,
  • A high degree of self-organization and initiative,
  • Good German and English language skills,
  • Active support of our teaching offer,
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

The required qualifications must be demonstrated in the application documents through relevant certificates.

Subject to meeting the personal and collective bargaining requirements, remuneration will be based on pay grade 13 TV-L.
