The “VoMoPro – Prediction Models in Production” project is a network initiative that aims to empower participating Bavarian companies to use modern prediction technologies through knowledge transfer. To this end, the current needs of the companies are first identified (network meetings) and then the potential for production optimization is leveraged in five interdisciplinary subject areas. In addition to the already intensive networking with industry through the AI production network at the University of Augsburg, the aim is to facilitate direct contact with the research experts at the University of Augsburg so that state-of-the-art AI technologies in the form of prediction models can be integrated into Bavarian companies in a timely manner and in line with their needs. The subject areas “Condition monitoring for manufacturing processes” and “Data-based analysis and optimization” focus on the applied processes and technologies as such, whereas the topics “Participatory introduction and design of prediction models in production” and “Open ethical accompanying research” guarantee the necessary human-centered approach when using AI technologies. The final topic area, “Training modules for AI prediction models,” enables participating companies to directly empower their workforce through appropriate training formats.
