Am 26. Januar 2026 hielt Frau Prof. Carlie D. Trott, PhD, Associate Professor for Psychology an der University of Cincinatti, einen vom Lehrstuhl für Didaktik der Geographie organisierten digitalen Gastvortrag mit dem Titel ?Counter-Narratives and Prefigurative (Action) Research: Socio-Ecological Transformation in the Capitalocene“. In ihrem inspirierenden Vortrag pr?sentierte Prof. Trott innovative Forschungsans?tze im Kontext sozio-?kologischer Transformationsprozesse. Sie stellte Ergebnisse aus Projekten vor, in denen sie zum Beispiel Zug?nge der Handlungsforschung gemeinsam mit Kindern und Jugendlichen umgesetzt hat, wodurch die Teilnehmenden ihre Sichtweisen auf zukunftsrelevante Themen wie den Klimawandel ausdifferenzieren konnten.
M?glich wurde die Einladung aufgrund der finanziellen Unterstützung zum einen durch das A.LEAP-Programm der Universit?t Augsburg, welches auf die Internationalisierung der Lehramtsstudieng?nge abzielt, zum anderen durch das International Doctorate Program ReThinking Environment (IDK) der Universit?ten Augsburg und München.?
Im Anschluss an den Vortrag entwickelte sich eine lebhafte Diskussion mit dem Publikum, welches aus Studierenden des Seminars Transformatives Forschendes Lernen zu Themen im Kontext des Klimawandels am Lehrstuhl für Didaktik der Geographie (Leitung: Johannes Schulz), Promovierenden des IDK, Angeh?rigen des internationalen A.LEAP-Netzwerks und des Augsburger Zentrums für LehrerInnenbildung und interdisziplin?re Bildungsforschung sowie des Instituts für Geographie bestand.?

On 26 January 2026, Prof. Carlie D. Trott, PhD, Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Cincinnati, delivered a digital guest lecture entitled “Counter-Narratives and Prefigurative (Action) Research: Socio-Ecological Transformation in the Capitalocene”, organised by the Chair of Geography Education. In her inspiring lecture, Prof. Trott presented innovative research approaches in the context of socio-ecological transformation processes. She shared findings from projects in which she implemented action research approaches together with children and adolescents, enabling participants to differentiate and deepen their perspectives on future-relevant issues such as climate change.
The invitation was made possible through financial support from the A.LEAP programme of the University of Augsburg, which aims to promote the internationalisation of teacher education programmes, as well as from the International Doctorate Program ReThinking Environment (IDK) of the Universities of Augsburg and Munich.
Following the lecture, a lively discussion developed with the audience, which included students from the seminar Transformative Inquiry-Based Learning in the Context of Climate Change at the Chair of Geography Education (taught ?by Johannes Schulz), doctoral researchers from the IDK, members of the international A.LEAP network, and representatives of the Augsburg Centre for Teacher Education and Interdisciplinary Educational Research, as well as the Institute of Geography.
